Water is vital for our survival. Perhaps this is why we are naturally drawn to water, whether it’s the coast, a riverside walk or a local pond.
Our wildlife also relies on fresh water for its survival, too. During this time when we are staying at home to support the vital work of the NHS, we can stay connected to that draw to be near water by providing a shallow dish of water for birds to drink and bathe in.
Debbie’s young boys have filled an upturned dustbin lid with water. It has been visited by blue tits, great tits, dunnocks, hedge sparrows, wood pigeons and green finches, but can they get a good photograph…..? Nope. The boys are far too noisy, but they have great fun watching the birds splash about.
Can you fill a shallow tray of water for the birds and send us your pictures? What other animals are visiting your watering station?
