Services for Companies
KSCP work with local companies in many ways as described below.
Improvements to company grounds for wildlife
A good example of this is at Givaudan in Ashford. In 2005 an arable field which the company owned was transformed into a wildflower meadow. Two ponds were also created. Since then barn owl boxes have been erected, river habitat works carried out, paths constructed, trees and hedges planted with one hedge laid etc. Local schools and community groups have been welcomed onto the site and interpretation panels and a leaflet have been produced. All leading to the company winning more than one prize for its environmental achievements. Neil Vincer, Environmental and Safety Manager at Givaudan says ‘everyone is commenting on how good the new laid hedge is, a truly excellent job’.
Small numbers of company staff are welcome onto the regular KSCP volunteer days or KSCP can offer specific team building days at minimal cost, carrying out conservation work and other activities.
Sponsorship of projects
Over the years many companies have sponsored particular projects such as wildlife gardening, tree planting schemes and water based projects. Sponsors have included Brett, South East Water, Network Rail, and Pfizers.
