Arts

Art and creativity are a great way to encourage people to visit and be involved with their local natural areas, so we try to incorporate this into our work in a variety of ways.

Sculpture

In partnership with others we have installed a number of sculptures at various sites within our area, these have been commissioned from various artists and sculptors. We have also been involved with events that have featured music, outdoor theatre and craft workshops. Public sculptures reflect the heritage, history or ecology of their locations, and involve visitors and local communities in thinking about and responding to their environment.

There are pieces along the Crab and Winkle Way, the Great Stour Way and sculptured seats at No Man’s Orchard and various other sites.

One of the best sites at which to see environmental art is King’s Wood, where the Stour Valley Creative Partnership are based. The work of nine artists can be seen by following the waymarked sculpture trail through the wood.
