Woods to Where Else

This Project was focused around the Woods to Where Else Concept. Led by Mavernie Cunningham, a group of 8 diverse artists from the south east, came together to explore and developed the ideas outlined in the concept that had particular resonance .  This was done through group discussions and workshops in King’s Wood,  in having 1:1 sessions with Cunningham, and having  time in the Forest Studio and woods to individually explore and develop  ideas through their own practice.

This led to the Woods to Where Else Symposium at University for the Creative Arts early 2018. Alongside presentations by guest speakers Dr Terry Perk  (Artist and Head of the School of Fine Art & Photography – University for the Creative Arts) and Adam Chodzko – (Artist and Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at University of Kent School of Fine Art and Music), the WWe artists outlined the key elements of the concept that they explored and how this developed or was inspirational in terms of their own art work.

The Woods to Where Else Publication, synthesises the project ideas and outcomes and is wonderful resource for artists, teachers and students of all ages.

Launched March 2020 on line – due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
