Sweet peas are a pretty cottage garden flower and fantastic pollinator. A great way to grow the seeds is to plant them into toilet roll holders.
The seeds need to be planted at 1.5cm depth into a 9cm pot. Toilet tubes are perfect and can be transplanted directly into the ground once the seeds have grown into small plants. A great way to recycle too. Your garden topsoil should be fertile enough, if not mix in a little peat free compost.
Sweet peas will grow to 2m in height and will need support to grow up. Pick the flowers regularly to keep a fresh supply of new ones coming through.
At the end of the season allow the seed pods to dry and store the seeds in an envelope until next April.
