Barn Owl Box Project reaches a milestone!

KSCP yesterday, reached a landmark in our Barn Owl Box project: the final free box was installed near Stourmouth.

Now, there are 20 more barn owl boxes in the lower Stour valley than there were at the start of the year. The aim of the careful placement of these boxes has been an attempt to increase the range of the owls. Naturally there will always be constraints to this due to habitat etc, but we remain hopeful that the project will be a success.

Thank you to all our talented volunteers who have dug, heaved, drilled, screwed, glued, hammered, climbed and tamped right through the summer including a very hot day when the temperature reached 37 degrees C!
