This guided walk will follow the Stour as it flows through one of the most important wetlands in Kent – Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve. Explore this wild riverside and hear about some special habitats and diverse bird life.
As well as the river itself we will be exploring the rich wetland habitats – reedbeds, marshes and lakes. The wildlife here is second to none – bittern, marsh harrier, water vole, kingfisher, lapwing and the rare bearded reedling. And keep your eyes open for early dragonflies and damselflies!
Be sure to bring your camera or smartphone! The walk will be led by Hannah Fone (aka The Wild Native), and there will be the opportunity to contribute your photos and video footage to a short film about the river she’ll be making on the day.
