The Rare Breeds Centre successfully combines tourism, rare breed preservation and employment and training for disabled people.
Rare and traditional British farm animals are bred in order to preserve them while at the same time providing an interesting tourist attraction and employment opportunity for the disabled some of whom also live at the centre.
The Rare Breeds Centre is registered with the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, The South East England Tourist Board and the National Association of Farms for Schools.
In addition to normal opening the Centre hosts school visits, special events and theme days.

Willesborough Windmill is a traditional working windmill grinding flour from locally grown wheat. This smock mill, dating from 1869, has been restored by Ashford Borough Council. It is the centrepiece of an Industrial Heritage Centre.
The flour can be bought at the mill and other local outlets. The mill is also a tourist attraction and hosts school trips and weddings.
