  Olantigh Estate Downland and hedges 

In 1997 the KSCP successfully helped the landowner with a Countryside Stewardship agreement. This included 31.4 ha of chalk grassland, planting of 1328m of hedge, arable field margins and open access to 23.72 ha of downland. Volunteers planted the majority of the hedges from 1998 to spring 1999 and have carried out weeding and mulching since.

  Olantigh Estate Riverside 

The 1997 Countryside Stewardship agreement also included the reversion of 5.92 ha of riverside arable land to pasture. A grass/ wildflower mix was sown for the summer of 1998. Two barn owl boxes were erected and two log pile otter built in 1997.

  Oxenturn Road hedge

In December 1999 as part of a community project the KSCP led the planting of 105m of hedge. Help was on hand from Wye Primary School children.

Wibberly Way

In January 1998 the KSCP helped in the creation of a circular route off the North Downs Way called the Wibberly Way. This involved clearing footpaths, installing a stile and fencing.

Cuckholds Coombe

From the winter of 1994/95 to the winter of 1996/1997 KSCP volunteers reduced the amount of scrub in this cattle grazed area that is part of the Wye and Crundale Site of Special Scientific Interest.

 

 
  Wye College Estate

The KSCP has helped with advice on nature conservation management of the estate, leading volunteer projects involving students, and by providing ideas for projects and giving talks and training to students.

Hedge planting and laying was carried out between 1994 and 1995.
