  Welcome Richard – Canterbury Greenspace Officer

Richard Harris has joined the KSCP to work three days a week as the Canterbury Greenspace Officer. Richard joins us from Croydon where he will continue to work part-time in Environmental Health Services. The Greenspace Project is all about working with local communities in the Canterbury part of the Stour Valley to manage and improve green space for wildlife. Richard’s first job is to assist with the management of three newly designated Local Nature Reserves (see below). The Greenspace Project is funded by Brett Environment Trust, Canterbury City Council, Kent County Council and ‘now’ from the Inter Regional Development Fund (Interreg). Richard comes well qualified with a degree in Environmental Biology and a MSc in Environmental Conservation.   Biddenden Vineyard Xmas visit and the Xmas quiz

As a special Xmas treat volunteers and staff travelled along to Biddenden Vineyard to stock up on wine for the festive period. After being treated to a talk and walk around the business side of the vineyard a sampling of the products from the production line took place. Some sampled a little too much affecting their answers to the evening quiz! …Jason.
