KSCP staff member scoops top prize
KSCP’s very own
Carol
Donaldson has scooped the top prize in the BBC Wildlife Magazine Travel
Writer Awards. She won the coveted prize with her piece about a drive
through the Australian outback.
The annual competition attracts over 2000 entries, many from professional
journalists, so
Carol
was amazed to be awarded first place. “I have entered the competition
for the past six years,” said
Carol
, “and every year I have been placed a little higher. To have my writing
judged the best by such a respected panel of judges is a dream come
true.”
Carol
writes about wildlife and travel, two of her greatest loves. She has
previously been published in magazine like Wanderlust and TNT. She now
hopes to write a monthly column about her work in the countryside.
Following the course Carol will be heading to Africa to enjoy her prize, a
£6000 safari for two to
Zambia
. Carol will be heading to the
Luangwa
Valley
National Park
to enjoy boating on the
Zambezi
River
and witness an abundance of wildlife including hippos, lions, leopards and
elephants.
