KCC Members fund Countryside Project
Minibus
A £7,000 contribution from the KCC Ashford Small
Community Capital Grants fund has allowed the Kentish Stour Countryside
Project to purchase a three year old minibus that will be used by its
volunteers.
Jon Shelton from the KSCP says 'We had our previous
crewbus for 15 years and it served us really well over all that time, to
the point that I think the volunteers were sorry to see it go. It's very
difficult for a small organisation such as ourselves to fund a big capital
item such as a minibus so we are very grateful to KCC members for agreeing
this contribution. We have adapted the minibus for our particular needs,
taking it down to 9 seats, fitting a bulkhead, tools locker and roof rack.
To ensure that most use is made of the bus we would like to loan the
minibus to local groups such as schools and youth groups around our base
in Wye so please contact us if you are interested.'
