Beavers at Buxford

1st Great Chart Beavers were busy at Buxford Meadow on an evening field outing to learn about aquatic creatures that live in the river Great Stour. The beavers teamed up with Rosemary Hoare, Ashford Green Corridor Officer to study the river. The eager beavers found many species including waterboatmen, freshwater shrimps, damselfly nymphs and even a water Scorpion. The Green Corridor project operates along the River Great Stour, East Stour and Aylesford Stream to promote, enhance and manage the river corridor which is a valuable asset to the town for both people and wildlife. Rosemary Hoare Ashford Green Corridor Officer said "the Beavers have been very keen to learn and have had great fun catching and studying all kinds of creatures with the extra help of some of their parents who have given up their time to come and help". Anyone interested in learning more about the Ashford Green Corridor and opportunities to be involved please call 01233 813 307 or visit www.ashfordgreencorridor.org.uk .
