Children and parents came to Jumping Downs Local Nature
Reserve on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th August to
take part in fun activities and learn about nature.
Children were bug hunting on Monday at the Local Nature
Reserve near Barham, using sweep nets, beaters and collection jars. On
Tuesday there was a scavenger hunt to find a whole host of different
nature items. The children used their finds to make dream catchers and
sculptures which they could take home.
The activities were run by The Kentish Stour Countryside
Project, who assist The Jumping Downs Trust in managing the site. Funding
for this has been provided through English Nature's Wildspace! grant and
DEFRA's Countryside Stewardsihp Scheme.
