Print
Fest at Frog Orchard
Press release press release, printing press - not cider press!
A whole bunch of children were pressing prints in Frog Orchard,
South Willesborough
last Friday. As part of a
series of free events put on by the Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership,
children were enjoying the pleasures of learning about the wonderful
ecological value of orchards, enjoying a few delicious plums and
collecting natural materials to create their own prints.
Artist Mavernie Cunningham had brought her wonderful printing press
on site, and helped the children create lots and lots of prints, which
formed parts of a jigsaw that they later assembled to make their own giant
frog.
KSCP works with Ashford Borough Council and other partners to protect,
enhance and improve wildlife habitat areas in the green spaces running
through Ashford beside the Great Stour and
East Stour
rivers. These areas link up and are collectively known as the Ashford
Green Corridor. This free
event was the fourth in a series of children’s activities that are
taking place in the Ashford Green Corridor during the summer holidays.
Each event is run by a local artist or expert, and is designed so that
children have fun learning about the wildlife on their doorstep.
