A Day in the Great
Stour
Meadow for Kennington 1st Beavers
Givaudan, Ashford’s
business centre for fragrance and flavour opened their grounds to
Kennington 1st Beavers for an afternoon of environmental fun.
Givaudan has reached out to the natural world and created a large wildlife
area within their grounds in which staff and visitors can engage with the
natural world and local wildlife.
Kennington 1st
Beavers spent their time exploring the flower filled meadow and bug
bursting ponds. They also enjoyed playing environmental games and writing
about their favourite animals.
Event leader, Debbie
Adams from the Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership said; “Communities
are built on businesses and local groups coming together and looking after
their local environment. To see a local business encourage young people to
learn about the diversity and value of wildlife, whilst incorporating
green values into their business strategy is fabulous.”
Kennington Beavers ‘pond dipped’ for water snails, water boatmen and
whirligig beetles, and played games that developed their understanding of
animals and their habitat requirements.
Givaudan is keen to
develop an educational programme for other groups. If you are interested
in using the site please call the Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership
