Downland Cycle Hire not only provides bicycles for hire
but can also organise cycling holidays based around Canterbury. Cycling is
a green and sustainable method of transport, making very little impact on
the environment.

The South of England Rare Breeds Centre successfully
combines tourism, rare breed preservation and employment and training for
disabled people.
Rare and traditional British farm animals are bred in
order to preserve them while at the same time providing an interesting
tourist attraction and employment opportunity for the disabled some of
whom also live at the centre.
The Rare Breeds Centre is registered with the Rare
Breeds Survival Trust, The South East England Tourist Board and the
National Association of Farms for Schools.
In addition to normal opening the Centre hosts school
visits, special events and theme days.

This smock mill, dating from 1869, has been restored by
Ashford Borough Council. It is the centrepiece of an Industrial Heritage
Centre.
When the wind is favourable grinding takes place. There
is also a coffee and gift shop.
